Hi I am Milou,
I am a 13 year old student now living in Moscow. I want to share this blog with students, kids and poets, writers and artists from all over the world to post a contribution for Earth Day. It would be great if you could join me and post here a link that connects to a relevant poem, text/article, picture/art with environmental content on your web site for Earth Day. Please put a back link on your site to World Poetry Day to get it rolling. If you don't have a web site you can post your contribution here.
Thanks, Milou

No matter who and where you are
You can always follow your dreaming star
And don’t listen to others thoughts ‘n’ founds
What you think is the thing that counts
If you feel like being a hip hop singer
Even though you’re basketball flinger
Have fun while you play
And sing still today
Do it with fun and don’t linger
You can always follow your dreaming star
And don’t listen to others thoughts ‘n’ founds
What you think is the thing that counts
If you feel like being a hip hop singer
Even though you’re basketball flinger
Have fun while you play
And sing still today
Do it with fun and don’t linger

Best of luck with this project!
I hear about this on Poets Who Blog and I am happy to contribute. This is a wonderful idea to commemorate World Poetry Day and our Mother Earth. Keep up the good work, Milou. My contribution: Standing In A Field
Hi to all,
I have now two blogrolls one for contributions and one for supporters.
So if you post something about the World Poetry Day - Earth Day project I will put you on the supporter list. Please let me know. If you want to make a contribution you are very welcome.
Thanks for your support,
Milou :-)
This is a great idea! Here's a link to an environmental poem on my blog: http://craftygreenpoet.blogspot.com/2008/03/ageing-alone.html. My blog is all about the environment and how we can make a difference in creative ways. I'll do a post for World Poetry Day /Earth Day and I'll come back and let you know about that post.
I love this idea..let me see what I can come up with, I will be back. Thanks Milou
World Stripped Away

Hi Milou,
Here's mine:
Burning Ice
Mine works for this theme! Good to find you!
dancing comes full circle
Here's my contribution. . .
http://jeques.wordpress.com/2008/03/21/be-the-best-that-you-could-be/
I wish you well.
~ Jeques
I left my link here. You have not published that here while moderating.
You published my poem without attributing it to me. I strongly object to that.
You even went and published the link at writers Island.
Now I am thinking, this idea of yours is not so great if it amounts for copyright violations of our original work. (Btw, I noticed, you did not put Jeques name either on his work.
I am commenting here again. I know you will not publish this. HOWEVER, YOU WILL READ THIS. THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT.
Milou,
Please correct some errors made in my poem posted:
1. The 1st stanza is missing.
If you are a tree, be the best tree that you could be.
Let the hands of time mold your body
Endure the seasons ~ be sturdy.
2. The name of Martin Luther King should come after his quotation:
"If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michaelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music or shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here live a great street sweeper who did his job so well." ~ Martin Luther King
3. My name: Jesus Jeques B. Jamora should be reflected especially in the last phrase:
"And when I die strew my dust-remains in the earth so trees may grow." ~ Jesus Jeques B. Jamora.
Just a piece of advise, when you solicit contributions, you should and please learn to acknowledge the names of writers and please be careful when you post them - watch for some errors. I don't want to share and see my works not given justice with errors in them. That is how I value my works.
I wish you well.
~ Jeques
Milou, I am late..but here's mine -
Gaia
Sorry Jeques,
I was on holidays and had problems with a PC I fixed the errors right away.
Have a great day,
Milou
Dear Gautami Tripathy,
First of all sorry for the late answer but I was on holidays with my parents over easter and can first answer now. I did some postings in the hotel, your poem and Jeques but had problems with the computer in that hotel so I was not finished when I published it, then we moved and I had no possibility to correct the posts.
You know, you made me really really sad, that you think that a 9 year old girl would do this on purpose. If you had read the other postings you would see that I gave credit to all of contributors and I put the writers on the contributors list, that's the meaning with this blog and I will give credit to every supporter!!!
First of all, why should I not publish you nice posting?? It seems that is very important to you that everybody knows who you are so now people can read a bit more about you.
About Writers Island: I just did copy and past your poem and you are linking to writers island. I am linking to Writers Island too as I link to Poets Who Blog. I did not know that it is forbidden to post on Writers Island when your are linking to them. I really do not understand what you mean. Anyway, if you want that I should remove your poem, please write me or post me a message.
Kind regards,
Milou
P.S. Be the way, I made some errors with Jeques poem too. He just posted in a nice way what I did wrong and I changed it when I had time to do this.
You see it is not so difficult to be nice to people:-)
Milou,
Do not take the harsh words of some to heart. Some people are not very empathetic or sensitive to others and always jump to the worst conclusions. Personally, I feel that one way to make this Earth a better place on Earth Day would be to give people the benefit of the doubt when you feel you have been wronged.
I applaud what you have done and all the effort you have put into this and I hope that you do not let the rude behavior of some keep you from similar activities in the future.
Keep up the good work,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your kind words it cheers me up:-)
Have a great day,
Milou
NICE blog!! great poetry here!!
Afternoon Milou ~ I'm not exactly sure where the "Earth Day Domino Tag" is ... but thought I'd let you know that I support you, what you're doing and your cause. Although my blog "http://www.jan-tomatobaby.blogspot.com" and website do not directly speak of the environment ... I do my part in recycling, upcycling, repurposing old wool garments into bags and accessories. A link would be great, but not necessary. And the deepest I go in poetry is the level of about Dr. Suess!
If you'd help me a bit as to what you want me to place in my blog, I'll be happy to do it and support you.
May you continue in your endeavors and with what you learn at the tender age of nine ... you'll be light-years ahead of those in your later life.
Continue in your dreams ~jan

THE AIR HERE REALIZED
AND THE SAND CRIED
THE NATURE WEPT FOR A LONG
LET'S HEAR THE BIRD'S SONG
THEY ALL CRY TOGETHER
THEY ALL CRY WITH SORROWS
THEY REMIND US WE HAVE TO RETURN
THE THINGS WE BORROWED
BUT ITS HUMAN TO REALIZE
THOUGH THEY NEVER DO
THEY ARE TO CURE
AS THEY DON'T PREVENT TOO..
